I DON'T KNOW WHO HAD BEEN A GOOD FRIEND

I'm just furious. I don't know, pissed, mad.. I understand that sometimes people will tend to oversee the intensions of your own doing. I can't define if I may call it inconsiderate but anyhow, it's getting on my nerves. I do not expect a foul italian word from a friend to whom I just said "Ti Amo" a few minutes earlier. I just can't get it. I wanna be a good friend to them, but I can't seem to get the good intentions back.

He/She's one of my good friend way back from high school. He lives in Italy now and I am wondering, what happened? What had really happened? Even if it was a joke, even if it was unintentionally mentioned (good thing, it was in italian. Nobody can understand not unless they google it) I say it is hurtful. Because it was posted on a public social network site, inside the fan page of our HS Alma Mater. What's bad about this is that the comments are all posted on my design.

I do not want to say that he is accusing me of creating a design more like of FEU / DLSU (there I said it already!) just because it is green? We share the same color what the heck?! I found a cool tut and made something out of it. Never my intention to imitate a design or what. It's just bad that people can sometimes can be as bloat-head as a bloat fish and maybe even smell like one.

No more nice girl for them. No more cool and understanding friend for them!

I'VE BEEN DOING DESIGNS FOR MY HS ALMA MATER

I'm so loving it! I just love anything about designing. Now I am learning to use Adobe Photoshop CS4 and here's a sneak preview of what I did using this cool software!

I mean, soooo cool! Way too cool! Still a lot more to learn. Even if it's simple, I find it amusing because I did it myself! Alone!

I'm just so happy.. :)

I KEPT MY FAITH

Things happen for a reason. I wanna ask why, but I know, I ain't getting no answer right now.

I'm not to post it here. I don't want to detail the terrible incident last night. To sum it all up, my sister lost her two new cellphones, wallet with her ATMs inside, and atleast 5,000+ cash while riding a tricycle on our way home. To make things worst, she was scheduled to be admitted at UST that night. No cash, no phone, everything.

God is still with us I know. It was meant to happen. I never lost my faith in Him. Things happen for a reason. He will never allow my family to get hurt or suffer anyway. I am afraid. Yes, afraid that unexpected things like that happen again without me doing something to prevent it. I'm afraid I'm not there to see things and work our way out. Afraid of losing everything.

Anyway, God is good. I say, what happened last night was better than those of the people threatened to die due to a serious robbery. (It was not robbery, by the way.) The culprit needs the money more than we do.

Palms out for more blessings!

MARTIAL LAW IN FEU

MARTIAL LAW IN FEU
By Joey B. Ting

I thank God I am still alive until now.

Hear the story and be open to the incident that had happened to me within the week.

When we resumed classes last Monday, January 4, 2010, I knew something went wrong. All new faces of security guards surprised us as we enter the campus uncomfortably. They were so tall and well-built, looking like young military men. They stood everywhere as if a Martial Law is about to happen, vigilant and so attentive to entering students, faculty and staff. It was Monday, resume for work (faculty and administrators) and study (students) in the campus after the Christmas break. Everybody has its own personal reasons to endure the day.

For me, I still need to catch up for the rehearsals for the upcoming theater project SPOOF. I stayed in the Arts Building together with the ATC (Art Theatre Clinique) kids until past 10pm, the usual night rehearsal just to polish the show due on the last week of January and the new theater company (family) I founded for the FEU Mass Communication majors. Normally, I would park in the Technology Building since I have become the FEU Faculty President (2007) and before Christmas break started, my front part of the car was slightly damaged as unknown culprit never appeared before me to confess. I just saw the damaged part when I was about to leave one time from the SPOOF rehearsal in the parking. I communicated it during the last CBA (FEUFA Collective Bargaining Agreement) Meetings with the officials but nothing has done to remedy the part. The dent is still there until now. Then, as the year change from 09 to 10, another security agency came about.

That Monday evening started it all. After the rehearsal, I went to get the car, unfortunately, the newly-installed steel bars covered the whole area of Technology Building where parking is also located (I am referring to the old hospital space). I asked the guard to open up the said bars so I could bring down my car. I, together with Neil Tolentino, Ian De Ausen and Wilbert Castillo waited for almost an hour just to open the bars. I inquired as to why the community was not informed of the new installation and blockage as there were no MEMOs or E-mail or any communication for that matter regarding this “curfew” thing and the “closing time” approach. The security guard didn’t answer as a trained communicator. He just looked at me as if I am questioning the pronounced Martial Law To add, another FEU Official – Budget Officer Arnie Macapagal - had his car upstairs, also trapped. Eventually, we got the cars down the parking and out of its vicinity. This prompted me to be conscious with the time.

But that Monday night fatefully repeated. Last Friday, January 9, 2010, I accidentally forgot that I need to transfer the car again from the Technology Building to the Administration open-air parking simply because my teaching schedules for that day and my first blocking rehearsals for SPOOF got so tied-up. I just remembered the car after the rehearsals that ended as usual past 10pm since a lot of things should be done for the show. I got so tired as I went through a lot last Friday, however, the discourtesy displayed by the guard on duty that time provoked me to a heated argument with the assigned guard. This became worse. I waited two hours to get my car. KARAPATAN KONG KUNIN ANG SASAKYAN KO KAHIT NAKA-SARA NA ANG STEEL BARS NA YAN. TAMA PO BA? I called several officials before guards agreed to look for the key and finally opened up the bars.

Saturday morning, I attempted to park inside the open-air parking (VIP & OFFICIALS’ parking) since I do not want to park anymore in that Building and be trapped inside it and the only parking available perhaps for me since there’s no office on Saturdays. After the two previous incidents, I introduced myself as a Faculty Union President this time through a written notice that I’ve prepared a slogan posted inside the car and the kind of relationship I have with the FEU President. Like a thunder, I went out of my car. An unknown security approached me suddenly and asking for the key. I refused to give the key. To my surprise, he dragged me like I was a criminal to the corner gate, physically pushing my right face and body against the wall and forcing me to get the key. He threatened me with a gun and discreetly kicked me while I was down on the floor, helpless. I have stood up once more yelling WALA KAYONG KARAPATANG SAKTAN AKO! WALA KAYONG KARAPATANG HAWAKAN AKO! HUWAG NIYO AKONG HAHAWAKAN! Then a troop of security guards came and the Security Head VERLANDO O. MIGUEL, again, once more held me but this time, I forcefully shouted for help and he let me out of the scene. So as I continue to leave my car at the gate hoping to communicate my point, I still met my 7:30-10:30am class in the Arts Building pretending to be okay but continuously trembling, as if nothing happened. I acquired bruises on my right elbow and muscle pain all over my right portion of the body as I was pushed by a 5’8 or 5’9 guard Hernandez.

The security never came back to inform me about the TOWING. During my class, a student who is familiar with my car told me that a towing service gets the car WITHOUT ANY SECURITY INFORMING ME. Since, the security fabricated the story that – after I left my car in front of the one of the three opened gates, they still have the guts to blotter the car as OBSTRUCTION and that the police station officer told me that I left out of the campus after having it parked.

They treated me like a criminal. In my eight years in the university, this is the first time I was physically touched and hurt by a security guard. Honestly, they do not look like one. They look like a trained military man ready to harm the ones asserting their right. This is still an educational institution.

ARE WE TO TOLERATE GUNS INSIDE THE CAMPUS?

ARE WE TO TOLERATE PHYSICAL HARM TO ANYONE WHO IS A MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY EVEN IF VIOLATION OF POLICY IS COMMITTED?

ARE WE TO ENCOURAGE FEU OFFICIALS THIS KIND OF SECURITY MEASURE?

Yes, I do assert my right as the Faculty President of FEU but I condemn the act of seriously hurting people especially in public. Whether I like it or not, I do carry the name Faculty President of the whole university system but being the first person to be harmed on the first week of this month by a one-week old security agency is unexplainable, a forceful act.

I can accept SUSPENSION OR EVEN EXPULSION FROM WHAT I DID WITH MY CAR but to touch me and harm me is another major matter.

IF THEY COULD TOUCH AND HARM THE FACULTY WITH OR WITHOUT A PURPOSE, THEY COULD DO EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING THEY WANT FROM US.

There is no difference now if directives come from the Officials.

From,
JOEY TING
Faculty President, FEU

ISALBA NATIN ANG ATING MUNDO!

What happened to the private organization and the government's campaign on turning the world green? What happened to Save the Earth Project? What happened to the green bags and all the stuffs they are voicing out for us to hear and understand? These are all based on my personal views. It doesn't reflect my colleague's opinions. These are all based on my observations.

Earlier today, (or yesterday) we bought a meal from a famous Dagupan product known for their flat bread (Hihi) and signature spread. I was so excited to eat the corner while the ham's head is out and almost ready for its head-bite. They can always use the normal paper bag with their logo. What's so difficult about using this kind of bags? I'm so in favor of this because I am fascinated by its durability and well, by its over-all look. Just like of Mc Donald's delivery fry bag. Have you guys seen it? Sure you did.

I'm wondering: (I'm thinking about this for almost a week now) madidisiplina ba ang mga consumers kung maghihigpit ang mga grocery stores to bring their own green bag or atleast a normal bag for them to use instead of those yellow plastics? I, for an instance. I brought my backpack last December to the mall. I bought a shirt and two VCDs lang. And my back pack's size is enormous! I'm also sick of collecting and folding grocery store plastic bags! (Or they can always re-use the plastics pala) Madali lang naman din gawin at isipin.

Again, another entry personally written by Aivy. (Follow her on http://ayamayvy.blogspot.com)

I'm a touchy person. Malambing ako. Not that I'm trying to sell myself here, pero iyon ang totoo. And I smile a lot. A tap here, an embrace of comfort there, a touch on the shoulder... Then he'll end up feeling rejected.

It happened several times already. And more often than not, I lose a lot of treasured friends in the process. I guess it can't be helped. Pakiramdam ko tuloy ay napakasama ko. That I'm a tease.

It changes everything. Maiisip ng babae ang lahat ng pinagdaanan nilang magkaibigan - the lunch, the long walks, the silly conversations, and she wont be able to help but wonder whether her friend desired her then. Since they're friends, they would still act as normal as possible. Pero marami pa ring pagbabago.

After the secret is out, the girl would feel more guarded. Mawawala ang dating sweetness nilang magkaibigan. Maya't-maya ay iisipin nya na baka kapag ginawa pa rin nya iyong mga dating ginagawa nya, she might give her friend the wrong idea. That she might be giving him false hopes. The guy on the other hand will hate her because he felt unwanted. He will notice the difference in the small things. And he will learn to resent her.

LOVE AND FIREWORKS

It is written by my good friend, Aivy. (follow her on http://ayamayvy.blogspot.com)

Do you want to know something about fireworks display?
They say that loving is like watching a 20-minute fireworks display. It's exciting, emotional, romantic, sweet and it's memorable...

But it always ends dramatically as it slowly fades into the air. As much as you want to keep watching, there is nothing to make it stay. In the end, all that's left is a starless night and the fact that in this life, good things never seem to last.

But then again, there's the moon. You might not always notice it, simply because it is overshadowed by stars and yes, sometimes fireworks. But it's just there. Waiting for you to appreciate it too. It will give you light, it will give you joy, it will give you comfort specially when you have a starless sky.

So I really shouldn't be worrie, for I know that I will soon see the moon. But not tonight 'coz I still have fireworks to appreciate. And my stars are still there. I just have to be patient that everything will fall in their places in due time. After that can I only say that "everything's allright."

"One of those nights in paradise after watching a fireworks display which led me to think and put it into writing."

SHE SAID, I SAID, WHAT DO YOU SAY?

She Said..

Tama ba na ganto?
Bakit ba hindi na lng lagi masaya? Bakit kailangang may sadness? Bakit ba lahat ng happiness in the end may sadness. Bakit ba para lang maramdman mong masaya ka, minsan you need to take the risk to do something na mali.. But in the end iispin mong sana dimo na lang ginawa para dika nasaktan.
Bakit napaka complicated ng buhay? Minsan though you are doing the right things but still may mga taong sasaktan at iiwanan ka. Sometimes nman when you choose the wrong thing masaya ka nga but then may fear.
Bakit ang laging tanong ng tao pag malungkot is “what if”. What if i didn’t do those things, what if i didn’t trust some so much, what if i choose the people who i want to be, what if wala na lng lahat ng pain….
why like this!!so much pain and agony!!!

I said...

Friend, life will always not be fair. It never was. The only reason why we are left broken is that we keep on doing exactly the same mistakes we choose to not learn and let go. All we have to do is to enjoy the moment where we can see the sun rising. It's easy being said than done I know.

But if we learn to move on, and focus on the things we know will keep us going, then I say, atleast, we'll feel eventually for us, literally inside us, that life is still fair after all.

We are all living in a world where "What ifs" are famous. I still say those things. It turned out that, I still do not have plans at all. I just live life as it is for now. You are fully aware of my so-called plans diba? Pero wala pa din talaga akong nagagawa. I do enjoy staying up late at this hour and connect with you guys. I enjoy watching movies and stuffs.

Even if you choose to live with the person who you really want, do you think, it will turn out exactly what you desire at this moment? Of course. :) The thing is, wala pa sya. Just move on. Do things for your lovely child.

I will always be here for you friend. I love you.

And now,
What do you say?

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - BY ERMA BOMBECK

Still another post and I'm not over it! I'm too happy doing it.. :)
Currently browsing the net for some useful blog entry tips and I found this along the way. It's nice! It's 05:52 now, and I don't care!

Here it goes..

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the "good" living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television, and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner."

There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute, look at it and really see it, live it, and never give it back.

Stop sweating the small stuff. Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.

Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who DO love us.

Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with.

And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally, as well as spiritually.

Life is too short to let it pass you by.

We only have one shot at this and then it's gone.

I hope you all have a blessed day.

"As a well spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well spent is a happy death." - Leonardo da Vinci

AND NOW, I'M IN A BATTLE AND THIS ENTRY IS A PRAYER

I'm on a battle. An Unknown battle. A battle of struggle and survival. I am not sure about it right now, but I really have to let it out.

I've always wanted to feel loved and liked. We all do. There came a point in my life that I wanted to fit into a group of people from a decent, exclusive school in Manila. That's the time when I was chosen to be an OJT for The Picture Company as a child photographer. Again, I was intimidated. I can never be one of them. And so I quit. I have to.

Even if I don't want to say it, I realized that even if I am shy, I wanted to be the center of attention. We all do. We just have to admit it. I am not consciously aware of this before. It took me time to realize from a thorough self assessment. I feel happy being alone at our room. I feel contented staying at home listening to a rusty fan in the background. I feel happy hearing my siblings at home. I feel happy going down from an 11hour sleep on a Saturday afternoon. I do enjoy watching PBB Double Up (and Boys Over Flowers) alone or with an accompany from whoever wants to watch it beside me. I am happy watching afternoon movies from HBO while eating two packs of Super Thin and two pieces of Choco Topps while drinking Coca Cola. I am happy talking to God and share my disturbing thoughts on how to run my own life. I am happy connecting with my friends from here and abroad. I am happy seeing their YM names go online. I am happy receiving text messages from a friend or a family member. I am happy borrowing DVD movies from a friend. I am happy walking around Manila even at night. I am happy shooting for people with pay. Hahaha! I am happy doing this and sharing my thoughts on a virtual world. I may not know who else is reading this and thank you for your time. :)

I am happy. I found peace at last. After all the past years of running against a backdrop of bittersweet memories, I found peace! I'm happy to announce that, I found peace at home. I never really expected it here. I'm done chasing the shadows of my past. I'm happy living my life now. And God, please don't take me yet. I still need to learn things beyond my capabilities. I still want to live and share your words.

My sister had enough of sacrifices already, please don't let another big bad event ruin her hopes and prayers. I still want to live life as happy as I could. I'm done with the old "please take me now." Just let me live and help out here. I know you're listening. Hear me out. I still want to complete my bucket list. And oh! I still want to see my best buds go on and accomplish their lists too. I still wanna see my sister graduate and have her picture taken at Colorpoint.. :)

"Be a positive thinker, always put all your worries on God. Cause you know why? Only Him can give us peace. No matter how painful life could be , if you trust in Him you will feel the happiness deep within.,No worries, yes there’s still pains but this time you know how to handle every situation because you’ve learned and you’ve been stronger." -- A post by Riyah Dizon

True enough. Ever since I quit my job, natuto akong maging positive. And yes, we just need to take some time off for ourselves. I took the risks, and I am happy. I still wanna go to Paris. :)

Amen!

WANNA WATCH THE SHOWTIME! BUT TURNED OUT ON A STRIPED PYJAMAS INSTEAD

I slept 3 in the morning. I woke up 11:58AM. I wanna watch Showtime, pero hindi ako nakaabot. Although I saw the repeaters naman. It's kinda bore so I switched the channel to HBO. The current movie was A Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. I remembered Mark Arisgado mentioned he saw the movie with Ms. Cherel last year. Now I have to catch the movie in Star Movies. Hell, It's a sad one. I think the German boy died along with his Jewish new-found friend. I saw them being locked up on a rusty-steel room together with the other naked Jewish men. The German boy pondered unafraid and the next scene was a soldier (I'm not sure about it) on top of the room wearing a gas mask put a shower-like tube above. At may lumabas na gas. Next thing I know, German boy's dad, whom's a high ranking camp officer ran and searched for the boy along with his associates, his wife and his daughter.

It's a sad story. The German boy befriended the Jewish boy with traumatic consequences.

NEW YEAR TRIP TO MARILAO, BULACAN

This is my first blog entry for 2010 and I wanna make it special. I'm gonna put pictures here for this entry para naman maiba! I so love blogging now.. Even if I find my entries coopie coo coo.. :) (What the hell is that?!)

We started the year crazy! We started it full of funny things. I am being considerate to the word funny here since I wanna make this year fruitful anyway. I don't think it's wrong. You may all find it repetitive but not for me. :) this is what I think is happy and I'm glad I still have a chance on writing everything while the memory is vivid. I dunno how to define this kind of writing -- I'm gonna write based on the date's wonderful event as if I am writing exactly on that specific time.

Getting back, December 31

Tatay's playing with Ken's torotot. See picture.. :) Ang kulit! Hahaha! Parang ewan lang. Nakakatuwa. Parang bata. He's done eating his bread and hotdog (thanks to Camille for this info) that time. I dunno what made him play with that. I also saw him record his "trumphet-playing" activity on his cellphone, (Now I'm planning to get and save it.) Parang bata. I dunno, he's making it as his alert tone or something.

It's time to go out now! it's 11PM! We still have time to make the fireworks dance before midnight. I prefer it that way. We gathered outside, and took pictures. Ken's a little afraid even to hold the "lusis" I'm not sure why. Sure he doesn't have trauma on fireworks. The sparks made him to not even touch the tip of the handle. I have to admit, it's scary. I also had doubts if it was made perfectly to just lit up or if the chemicals got mixed with the other exploding powders. We can never tell.

I also had a few attempts on creating names in the air using the long exposure mode. I'm not good at it. See, I almost scribbled my name perfectly! I should've used a pen light instead. I went home afterwards. I don't like the weees and booms of an exploding pla-pla I swear to God!

We are all set to visit my Grand Mother at Bulacan the next day. We need to get out here by 9:30 because they made plans on cooking meals for the afternoon. And because of that, we are tasked to sleep as early as possible. Sadly for me and Camille, we literally slept around five in the morning, January 1, 2010.

I woke up nine, took a bath. I'm done 9:20. While waiting for my cousin, I planned on a little nap hehehe. Hindi ko na nagawa. Ten minutes after that wishful event, they arrived. We ate breakfast together, laughing and again, laughing.. (Y'see..)

We made it to Bulacan exactly 47 minutes. No traffic! Less hassle! We kissed Mama, Ate Ibing, Tito and my three other cousins hello. They saw my camera. Asked for a shoot. They ended up posing unnaturally! I so love shooting wacky! From left to right: Tricia, Camille, Ayii and Mayi.

There's the sampayan shot...

The ever famous jump shot...

And the gate crasher shot! Wahaha!

But it's all worth it! It's fun! I'm really having fun sharing them these kind of moments. We walked around, found our way into the pool area. We shared funny stories and again, funny poses! We call it Farmville there! Whenever we saw chickens and cows we say "HARVEST!" Whenever we saw lands, we say "PLOW!" Funny thing when we are on our way to the pool, I saw a deserted mud-like land, I said "GONE TO WASTE!" There's a lot of dead frogs along the way. Yshang noticed one and screamed! Hahaha!

This one, it's almost at least a few hundred steps to the pool area. (a two-minute walk) This is the side where Yshang saw the one of the dead frogs. Camille took this photo. I thank her for seeing myself with my cousins here.

Yehey! When we saw the pool, we regretted the moment wherein we are about to bring our water stuffs the night before. Yshang and I had this moment na parang gusto namin dalin ang mga damit namin. We wanna swim! And so we ended up buying underwears sa palengke! I bought Camille and myself a 35 peso worth of bras. Hahaha! Oh my God! Hahaha! and panties worth 15 pesos each. And two pairs of toothbrush. Plus tawas, lotion and a papaya scented safeguard.. It's really fun! I still think about it everyday. We went back straight after the other guys bought medicine for Mykel. I dunno what's wrong with his eyes. He keeps on blinking and stuff. It's unavoidable. Anyway, before we head out to the pool, we had kiddie group shots. I was with them. It's really cute.. (I wanna go back to the part where we are munching our afternoon meal - We had pork barbeque, lumpiang shanghai, rice, sopas, spaghetti, chinese adobo and among others. Ayii also made refrigerator cake from crushed graham. So good! Super! Better than the biscuit type graham.)

Getting back, we spent 100 pesos each on entering the pool. So much for a villager and an outsider. :) Super trip on a January. From left to right, Yshang, Camille, Me, Mykel, Mayii and Ayii. So cold out there.. But the pool's great. We played touch pony tail. (Our pool version of touch ball) We used Ayii's purple pony as a ball. We are composed of two teams named: Team Bra and Team Panty. HAHAHAHA! Camille made those names by the way. She's pretty good at those kind of things. Team Bra was Camille and Yshang, the rest was Team Panty and we are four. :D We also played habulan. Even if I wanted to play taguan, how the hell are we going to do that? Hahaha! I can't imagine! We are allowed only two hours of submerging ourselves into the pool dahil hindi pwedeng gabihin ang sasakyan dahil walang headlight. Nagswim kami ng 3. Expected nila, by 5 aahon na kami. :D Oooops! Hehehe.
